The college is also recognised by the UGC under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act,1956 vide F No. 8-528/2013(CPP-I/C) dated October 10, 2015.

After the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir, all B.Ed. colleges came under the ambit of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The NCTE has granted time to institutions for completing the recognition process. Our college is strictly following the prescribed rules and we are hopeful that the Letter of Intent (LOI) will be issued to our college very soon.

M.Ed. [ Master of Education ]

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) is regarded as the highest professional degree in the teaching profession across the state. Considering the limited intake capacity at the University of Kashmir and the overwhelming demand for admission after the closure of the M.Ed. programme in distance education, the Franklin Educational Trust took the initiative to introduce this course in its institution. Many candidates from economically weaker sections are unable to pursue the programme outside the state due to financial constraints. Offering the M.Ed. course in the private sector is expected not only to create employment opportunities but also to produce competent professionals capable of delivering quality education in schools.

The M.Ed. is a two-year professional programme comprising four semesters. Its primary objective is to prepare teacher educators, educational administrators, and managers with both a national and global perspective on education in the 21st century, while acquainting them with state-of-the-art technologies relevant to educational practice. The programme further aims to:

# Develop educational experts capable of generating new knowledge through scientific methods of inquiry and investigation.
# Cultivate a critical mindset that identifies gaps in existing knowledge and finds solutions to problems in the theory and practice of education.
# Strengthen professional competencies for contributing to quality improvement in schools and teacher education institutions.

Status of Approval for M.Ed Course:

The availability of unemployed Ph.D. scholars for academic support, along with the existing infrastructure of the institution, formed the basis for seeking approval. This prompted the Government to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) in favour of the College for running the M.Ed. course vide No: HE/Recog-66/M.Ed/09 dated : 08-01-2010. The process of affiliation with the University of Kashmir is presently pending.

The College has created a separate infrastructure and land exclusively for running the M.Ed. programme and is now taking this course with utmost seriousness. As the next step, the College will first obtain the Letter of Intent (LOI) from NCTE for the B.Ed. course, and thereafter, it will immediately process the case for getting approval from NCTE to run the M.Ed. programme, ensuring its completion at the earliest possible time.
